How the minimum and the rate work together
UseSES bills the greater of $99 or your metered usage at $0.33 per 1,000. The minimum is credited against usage, so it covers your first 300,000 emails each month. Below that, your effective rate is higher than $0.33 because you are paying for headroom you are not using.
At the published LC Email rate of $0.675, the $99 minimum becomes cheaper than the built-in route at roughly 146,667 emails per month. Between there and 300,000, you save something and the effective rate keeps falling. Above 300,000, you pay the full metered rate and the per-1,000 saving is about half.
Contribution figures use the client price you entered and the same client price on both sides. They show what changes if you keep your pricing. If you pass savings on, contribution moves less and your clients see the difference instead.
