Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated September 27, 2026 · Version 2026-09-27
UseSES is for permission-based email only. This Acceptable Use Policy is part of our Terms of Service and applies to every workspace, user and connected HighLevel location. It protects the people you email, the reputation every UseSES customer shares, and our standing with Amazon Web Services and the mailbox providers. Where this policy is stricter than the law, this policy applies.
1. Send only to people who asked to hear from you
- Marketing email may go only to people who gave you clear, specific permission to receive it, for example by opting in on your form or at checkout. Keep a record of when and how each person opted in, and be able to show it to us on request.
- Transactional and conversational email, such as receipts, appointment reminders and replies to someone who contacted you, must relate to a relationship or request the recipient started.
- Send only the kind of email a person signed up for, and only from the business they signed up with.
- Don't send to purchased, rented, traded, scraped, harvested, appended or co-registration lists, to addresses generated by guessing, or to any list whose permission you can't show.
- UseSES doesn't support cold outreach, even where the law might allow it.
2. Make leaving easy, and honor it
- Every marketing email must include a clear way to unsubscribe that works for at least 30 days after the email is sent. UseSES adds one-click unsubscribe to marketing email and records each unsubscribe for you.
- Stop marketing email to anyone who unsubscribes, however they ask, as soon as possible and in any case within the time the law requires.
- Never re-add someone who unsubscribed, complained or bounced without fresh, verifiable permission, and never try to get around the suppression lists UseSES keeps.
3. Be who you say you are
- Use accurate From names, From addresses, Reply-To addresses and headers that identify your business or your client's business.
- Don't use misleading subject lines, and don't impersonate any person, brand or organization.
- Send only from domains you own or control and have set up with the records UseSES asks for.
- Include your valid physical postal address in marketing email, as the law requires.
4. Content you may not send
You may not use UseSES to send, link to or promote:
- anything illegal, or that facilitates illegal activity, fraud or deception;
- phishing, including simulated phishing or security testing that we haven't approved in writing, or any attempt to collect passwords, payment details or other sensitive data under false pretenses;
- malware, viruses or any code designed to harm, disrupt or gain unauthorized access;
- sexually explicit material, or any material that sexually exploits or endangers children;
- content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory or that promotes violence;
- content that infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
- unlicensed or counterfeit goods, prescription drugs or controlled substances, and deceptive health, weight-loss or financial claims;
- gambling where it's illegal or unlicensed, pyramid or multi-level marketing schemes, get-rich-quick offers, payday or high-interest lending, debt relief or credit repair offers, or cryptocurrency or investment promotions; or
- anything else that AWS, HighLevel or our other providers prohibit.
5. Keep your lists clean
- Remove addresses that bounce permanently, and keep your hard bounce rate low. As a guide, stay well under 2% of the email you send.
- Keep complaints very rare. As a guide, stay well under 0.1%, meaning fewer than 1 complaint per 1,000 emails.
- Remove people who haven't engaged in a long time before they become complaints or spam traps.
- Increase volume gradually, especially for a new domain or location, and follow the sending limits UseSES applies while a location warms up.
These figures are a guide, not a safe harbor. UseSES measures its own levels, may change them at any time, and may slow or pause sending at lower levels when we see risk.
6. Misuse of the service
Don't probe, scan or test the security of UseSES, interfere with other customers, overload the service, get around sending limits, sending protection or suppression lists, share sign-in details, or use UseSES to build or send to lists for someone who isn't a connected HighLevel location of yours.
7. What we do when this policy is broken
We may investigate any suspected breach, and you'll cooperate, including by showing proof of permission. Without liability, and with or without notice, we may slow, hold, limit or pause sending, remove content, suppress addresses, suspend a location or workspace, close your account, report activity to AWS, HighLevel, mailbox providers or authorities, and charge you for costs we incur because of the breach. Fees for email already accepted remain payable.
8. Reporting abuse
If you received email sent through UseSES that you didn't ask for, or you want to report any other misuse, please contact us and include the full message with its headers. We review every report.
